HAPPY A hippo head showed up, all the soft knobby details, but I couldn’t make the rest of the beast so I didn’t save him and I should have, I could have made a little pedestal for it the way I did the cockatoo.
Pretty much an allegory for humans. Always in flux, in the midst of becoming or unbecoming something, seldom following directions. We blunder on and are shaped by the journey.
Sounds like working with clay is a good analogy for writing. I don't want an outline. I want to see what rises to the surface and shows up in the words.
I love the way you show me with your words how best to cope and deal with the life we are given by dwelling less on the hurt and pain and just letting it be. How the reminders that appear from nowhere halt us for a bit yet somehow once we look at what is in front of us we can continue on. I’m glad you have your clay and your writing to help you and the rest of us along the way. Thank you Abigail.
My hands carry long grudges and refuse to play with clay. Or wire. Or hold a paint brush. Or sandpaper. But you’ve reminded me of the delight they once brought. Thanks.
Thank you, yeah, something crazy going on is essential. I'm working on getting some photographs but don't have a camera, or that kind of phone, and some of these creatures are packed away because I have too. many of them to have out. Thank you again.
Love to read about your work with clay, it’s inspiring and fun yet I also see so much depth and astute observations about life and being human…Thank you!❤️
“Some things you have to know how to do. But I don’t want to be taught.”
Me, either. 👍🏻
More fun to figure it out one mistake at a time, right? Thank you.
I’m still unlearning

Thank you, and yes. Exactly like that.
That’s the fun of it
Oh I delight in the same analog mess! Beautiful sharing.
Thank you. But what is an analog mess? I forget what analog means all the time.

Exactly right.
and thank you.
I get so much joy from your writing about what you are finding in the clay.
Thank you, that is lovely to know.
Love what happens when you get "carried away."
Me too! Thank you.
😂
They all sound like amazing and surprising company. And I’m so glad slurry hands are making you happy. ❤️
Thank you. They are sort of like my extended family.
Love this
It feels intimate like my tomato’s
Which is great bc if one of them turns out to be an asshole you can squash him and start over.
Hahahaha. Right.
😂

Thank you, Kathy. You are already on your way!

Dying to know the grudges they carry.. Maybe write about it and then go buy some clay.
And thank you.
Great side door
Always having "something crazy going on" seems essential to me. Would love to see this latest creature too!

I love that you left the little dinosaur just as she is. That's what I want to do for myself...leave myself just as I am. Thank you for reminding me 💕
God, how I love you and your writing. And the mess…
Nothing more interesting than a mess. Thank you.

Thank you, Ingeborg. Kind words, and I'm grateful.
“I’m only really happy when…” this could be a writing assignment.🥰❤️
good idea, Ingeborg. Do it!
“… in the middle of being made…”
Yes that wonderous place
Oh, thank you!
