AN UNDISCIPLINED RANT
A mess, but needed to put it up anyway

They are thinning the population. Thinning it down to their liking. That’s the obvious plan. Okay, so millions of us will be unable to pay for health insurance, let alone the medical expense needed for diseases that extinguish us. On top of that, we are being discouraged from vaccinating our children against killer childhood diseases for reasons that make no sense. Oh, and Tylenol causes autism. Many of us can disregard the lies and mean-spirited, no, evil, notions spewed forth from RFK Jr, who is either mentally fakakta, or is being paid off by those in charge. I seem to remember he took his family swimming in sewage once. Maybe a slight exaggeration. Google it. Anyway, they are starting with those of us with the least amount of money, and new parents completely vulnerable to what makes Foxy “news.”
“News” outlets whose commentators’ open mouths probably drool lies even as they sleep in comfy beds in safe places, whose females have their lips botoxed so badly you think they might just pop in the middle of a sentence. All of them either owned or threatened, but who continue obedient to the likes of Michael Cohen, and his puppet, the utterly soulless president of these unlucky United States. Unlucky is perhaps the wrong word, there is a harsher one, but it’s hard to point a finger when so many of us are undereducated, unable to weigh fact against falsehood, unable to weigh lies against our own unexamined experience, making us easy targets.
Hospitals closing will. Doctors threatened with imprisonment for helping a woman dying of a pregnancy that threatens her life. Let alone a woman whose right to decide whether or t she can take good care of a child. Or whether she wants one at all. It’s up to her. Want somebody to judge you on your personal decisions? It’s nobody’s business, your personal business. Yours is yours, mine is mine. We need to keep our noses out of others decisions. I realize there are exceptions. See somebody beating a child? That’s everyone’s business. What poisons now being allowed back into the air we breathe?
Our business.
Nope, they want white Republican men making money, obedient white wives doing housework and having babies to repopulate the country in some insane vision of what makes a country strong. How to die of boredom in comfort, is what I call it.
Medical research for flat-out killer diseases like cancer, this is being unfunded. And not just cancer, research in general, for the benefit of the species. If we could afford it. Everyone ought to be able to have access. We are the richest country in the world. But the wealth belongs to just a few rat-bastards. I suppose there are exceptions, I can’t remember any at the moment. I’m on a roll.
And what the hell does the government have to do with the way our colleges and universities teach, what they teach, who they teach it to, and what they want us to teach from the beginning of school? Revisionist history. We own our history. Do not obliterate it, do not tear it from us. We need to learn from our history. It BELONGS to us. Face it, understand it, we need to do better and grow. And what the hell is going on with the warming of the planet? Oh, of course. Another hoax. I forgot. It isn’t warming. Stop the information, no more research. And no help when the river floods and children die. Children who could have survived if they’d been warned. But no. Too much trouble. Too expensive.
And all the marine life dying out because of warming seas? Maybe we don’t realize that everything is connected to everything else in ways both mind-blowing and invisible. But connected. No bees? No crops. Everything here depends on everything else. This is how earth formed. As my father once wrote on the back of an envelope in 1970, how interesting it all is. And us? The youngest beings on the planet? The most interesting? He ended his scribbles, with the words, “Juvenile Delinquents.” It was realistic but in Daddy’s offhandedly brilliant way, his nod to humor contained a little hope thrown in. Me? I don’t believe in hope. I believe in action, in awareness, in truth being told, although I leave that to Susan O’Brien, and many others who write and speak of what is happening and what we can still do. I’m too old to march, all I can do is write, but my only impulse until this minute, is to fall into cursing.
Soon there will be many fewer of us. Do not worry for the rich. They will get the vaccines, they will get the medical care, they will have figured out how to have food and water and wine, and when our country becomes unliveable because of heat and weather, and desperate people from warmer climes overrun us, and we kill each other just for air to breathe, and water to drink. The wealthy will have their tiny civlizations buried underground, tastefully designed. Doomed to die of boredom. I’d rather die a different kind of death.
But I can still fucking vote.

Abigail! In the name of whatever you call holy, do NOT stop writing. I am working on a piece about education, and how our system of education has let us way, WAY down for years. stay tuned. Your voice, along with everyone else's, is what is going to insure we CAN still vote. Even that is threatened unless we all turn to. Thank you for that gravelly, brave, no-holds-barred voice of yours. ❤️
And a righteous read, it was. Thanks for posting up what so many of us are thinking and feeling -- especially this: "But I can still fucking vote!" I'm with ya.
